quick noob question but my mom once told me there aren't stupid questions just dumba$$' who don't know better....so does a 4-1 header on a dohc vtec sound kinda wierd in low rpms? like a putt putt or a scoobie?

It really depends on the header. Lots of things have an effect on the way it will sound such as primary length, collector design, collector size, etc.

well it would be the JUN header or so im told....no distinct markings and I didn't buy it so im not holding my breath....but thats what it is supposed to be.

Aftermarket headers typically allow you to hear more exhaust and engine noise through them, since they are constructed of much thinner material than the factory cast units. It's possible the noise is completely normal and just something you weren't able to hear with the stock unit in place, but it's also possible that you have an exhaust leak in the system somewhere.

thanks, I've taken numerous friends of mine plus my folks and only one 2 of 10 have heard it(including me) so im just gonna finish breaking it in and then go from there.

I have a DC 4-1 and yes, mine kinda souds like a scoobie for a very narrow portion of the band at the bottom end.

yeah its only a little portion and i can't go past 4k anyway right now so im thinkin that has to be it
