Default Head Gasket problem?

I have been leaking a crazy amount of oil right above my manifold in the corner. I am wondering if this could be a blown head gasket.

thanks for your help

If it is just an oil leak and you are not leaking compression it may not be blown. I would try retightneing you head bolts and see if that helps. What engine combination are you running? Maybe you have the wrong gasket and it is not allow the passage of oil through thus creating the leak.

I'm running a b18a1. I just finished doing a compression test here are the results

1 181
2 179
3 182
4 180

I am running a gt25r at 9psi. I'll try re-tighting the head bolts to see if that helps.

Compression looks to be in range. I would bet you need to retorque. Did it leak the whole time it was installed? What type of gasket are you running?

the exact same thing has been happening to me. i'm not boosted though, but my compression numbers look almost identical to yours. just because i'm paranoid though, i'll be replacing the head gasket and the bolts with studs in a few weeks.

I'm going to re-torque the head studs tomorrow morning, should I re-torque them to 61 lb-ft? any tips before I start?

just out of curiousity... I am not a mechanic and I know ANYTHING is possible but, why would you ask about a blown head gasket if it is leaking at the valve cover, wouldnt it be the valve cover gasket??

it's not my valve cover gasket leaking, that's been replaced along with the o-rings when I got the new valve cover. It's leaking right below it, on the corner of the block. It's hard to tell from the pic sorry about that.
