OK, I'm fed up with mechanics and their bills, so I'm going to start doing most of my own work on my car. Which do you guys think is the better manual for me and why?
Thanks.
Thanks.
well lets see,
it all depends on what car you have. i have a chiltons and haynes repair book for my Camry and i like the Haynes better because its based on my generation camry, compared to chiltons which has 2 generation inside the cover. the down side of not concentraiting on one generation is, of course they're different... uhh you no. i like haynes but chiltons are good as well.

They both suck. Get the real shop manual from Helms. It will be the best $50 you ever spent.

I also have personal experience with Chiltons. You'd get more information form a Dr. Seuss book than Chiltons (I'm a little bitter. I lost the receipt so I'm stuck with this crap). Get the Helm manual.
At barnes and noble, Haynes are just $16 plus do a search on Google, you will always find $ off coupons or free shipping coupons. At half.com, I got an Altima manual for just $8 after using one of their coupons.
Helms for the Integra is damn hard to find these days. Where can I get it for $50?

Well, I just ordered a Haynes manual for 92-95 civic's and del sols. I know it's not the best one you guys advised on, but it's better then chiltons and it was cheap, $20 CAN. I haven't been able to find a Helms around here, but if I do I'll buy that one too... hey it can't hurt right?
'it can't hurt can it?' Famous last words. j/k
Keep the receipt, you might be needing it. As for the helms, you probably tried already, but http://www.helminc.com is their site

Yeah, I checked out the site. The manual I need is $60US. Which after conversion and customs works out to about $110CAN. Just don't have that cash right now.

is the helms manual the exact same way they offer at the dealer. more specifically, is the cover grey with red letters and about 200 some odd pages? thanks
