Default Having VTEC issues.

Ok, I have a 96 Integra RS with a b16a swap ( dont ask why, i said the same thing lol i bought the car like this) anyways, the car will warm up then when i get on it VTEC works but then a few min later i get a code 22 ( VTEC pressure solenoid) and code 23, knock sensor. ( have yet to try and get this corrected as well) When i first got the car it worked fine but i recently had to purchase a new jumper harness because the old one started falling apart. Could this be a bad VTEC pressure solenoid or what?

Thanks
- Brandon

You get the code while in vtek mode? or after getting out of it.

I get the code right after VTEC engages for the first time. then it will not engage again after that. and throw the code 22.

Sounds like you have a dirty screen or a faulty solenoid.

sounds like you have a wiring problem, if vtk comes on it should stay on untill you get out of vtk zone, but if it comes on and shuts right off even in vtek zoon then it's a wiring problem......VVTTTKKK FL.....LOLZ

Wow. When vtec comes on, it should stay on until the ECU shuts it off. The ecu detects an error, throws the code, and shuts off vtec. Why would it stay on? It's controlled by the ECU, not by rpm.

Thanks for the responces.

I do not think it has to do with wiring because ive wired it exactly how it should be unless ive over looked something. I will check the screen in the VTEC solenoid tomorrow if thats not the issue I will look into replacing the pressure sensor.

well the screen is not dirty at all, was actually suprised to see how clean it was. going to advance to buy a distributor for my car to replace the LS one that it has on it now. then i will probably stop by the junkyard or something to see if i can find a vtec pressure sensor

Change to 20-50 oil it will work for awhile till it "blows". You have an oil pressure problem. Most of the posters on here are idiots.

Fixed it . The ground wire that went to the head was not completely grounded, I found a ground wire in my trunk and replaced my old one and it worked perfectly now. Thanks for all of your input on my problem.
