Having problems shifting after some transmission work
Recently I have clutch/flywheel/gearset/short shifter installed...the tranny was nice and smooth until after 2 days, when I came to a complete stop I could not shift into any gears with ease. To shift into a gear, I would have to speed up the shifting motio...and it would still require a few tries. Sometimes after say 20-30 minutes of driving, the problem will go away...but after another 10 minutes or so of driving it will come back again. Keep in mind this only happens when the car is standing still. Shifting is fine when the car is in motion.
Another thing I noticed is when I shut off the engine (with the problem persisting), I would still encounter the same problem...which led me to think that it's not the clutch (which is brand new anyway).
BUT...last wednesday morning when I started the motor getting ready to leave for work, my rpm would fluctuate like crazy. It seemed to want to die out at times, and the shifting problem was way worse...ie. a couple times when I went into reverse I wouldn't able to get it back to neutral. The car was also jerking foward when the clutch pedal is not depressed. At first I thought the clutch needed some bleeding since the clutch seemed to have problems disengaging. I then bled it, and the problem went away (though the shifting problem i mentioned above remains).
Anyway, it happened again this morning but after driving around the block for like 20 seconds the problem went away, but again the old shifting problem remains.
Just thought maybe I can gather some help from the experts here, before I go ahead and take apart the tranny...
Thanks in advance.
