Default Having problems with the d15.

ahh yes..another one of these threads. but on a serious note, my car is acting up pretty bad so heres the story...
yesterday, it was raining pretty hard over here in tennesee. i went on this one road and literally drove through a feet or two of water. i started to drive home about 3 miles and everything was fine. as soon as i pulled into my neighborhood..it felt like it was running on 3 cylinders. i popped the hood and to no suprise, spark plug wire for #1 came off. plugged it in..and it didnt start.

i checked all the fuses both under the dash and in the engine bay. i have fuel, i have spark, and compression also.

and to my surprise..it started once every blue moon. for example, i would try to start it for about 2 minutes, and then itll start. and when it does start, it runs like crap. i tried to drive it and it cut off, and wouldnt come back on.

at first, i was almost certain i wasnt getting fuel because my fuel pump wasnt priming but then itll randomly cut on so i pushed the main relay, and the fuel pump cuts on every time now. but it didnt solve my problem.

also, i changed my ecu with a p28 because my carpet was wet. whats funny is im throwing a code. its number 19, automatic transmission lockup control valve. i am running an auto ecu because my car used to be auto. but i converted it to manual and it was running fine for the past 5 months and no cel until i was driving home that day.

could it have hydrolocked? thats what i thought...so i took the head off and cleaned the cylinders but there was no water. i was going to take the spark plugs out and crank it a couple of times but couldnt because the little rub piece came off my spark plug wire and got stock around the spark plug which pwns me when trying to put a socket down there. ill try it tomorrow and see what happens.

so as you know...i tried a lot of things before posting hoping itll work but none did. does anybody have any clue, any help would be great. or should i go to plan b and drop the ls back in my car.

what do you mean you can't get the spark plugs out? get them out somehow. use a ghetto bar for leverage if you have to.

i ment that the socket wouldnt go on because a rubber piece came off the spark plug wire and got stuck around the spark plug.

but guess what..i have no idea why but i started it when i came back from school and it fired right up. runs fine. i didnt do a thing to it but in no way am i complaining. maybe something dried up in the sun?

take a pair of needlenose pliers and get that rubber piece off the plug. replace your plugs and wires. as for the ecu, i don't know, but personally, i would get a somewhat reputable tuner to at least check it out. did you get the ecu converted from auto to manual when you did the tranny swap?
