Having problem with AEM intake for '92 Prelude
I've took off the regular stock intake box, and have replaced with an AEm short ram intake.
Now, my original intake box had two holes for two tubes. One for the breeder, and the other goes above the intake manifold and into a small box on the right side of the intake manifold.
Now, the aem intake only had a hole for the breeder, so the tube that traveled above the intake manifold has no place to go.
I'm thinking that it's a valve, and so i plugged it up with a small little plugger that AEM gives me.
Now, when I put my car in Drive, and let go of the gas, the car actually revs up for a certain RPM, then falls again whenever I come to a complete stop.
Also, when I put it in to neutral, it'll rev up to 2000 rpm, falls down to ilke 500, and rev up again, and circle.
Anyone know what's wrong? and has an idea to help me? thanks

It sounds like you have a vacuum leak. I would go to the auto part store and get a vacuum T and the two lines to the one nipple. You understand?
where do i put the Vacuum T?
and i dont comprehend what u mean by two lines to one nipple? Where is the nipple at? on the left side of the intake manifold?
Cuz i see two holes there that are sealed off by a cylinder tube.

ok, you said that you used the one nipple on the new AEM intake for the breeder, Correct? ok, then get the correct size vacuum T for BOTH breeder and the other hose and get a short piece if hose and put it on the nipple and the intake then put one side of the vacuum T on the hose then add the two hoses (breeder & the other) to the T, then u are done. The idle problem is mostly likely from a vacuum leak so check all your vacuum and you should be good!

okai, so let me see if we're on the same page.
I shud go out, find a T vacuum, and so i put the other hose on one end of the vacuum, the breeder on the other, and connected the third side of the vacuum onto the intake hole?
Where do you suggest I go to look for a vacuum leak?

I would start what you last touched (like you just installed a air intake so check all your vacuums around the intake and what not). But i would do the T first cause that may solve your problem.

k, thanks a lot, imma try it tomorrow,
wonder how come AEM didn't just give me a T tube in the first place.....
P.S. how would I solve a vacuum leak?

OK, this is what i like to do, I find all the vacuums on the car and then i cup them one by one with my hand and when i am doing that i listen for the idle to change back to a normal smooth idle. But some people like to use carb cleaner to find the leak. You just spray the carb cleaner on to the vacuum lines and listen for a change in idle. You understand?

yeah i got ya, but how wud i go on fixing it ?
just tie up the leak?
because it didn't rough idle until after I put on my new aftermarket intake. like with the stock intake, everything wus fine

ok, you are going to most likely replace the hose depending on what the problem is. But most likely it is a hose or a hole in something or something you forgot to tighten down.
