do h22a have a crank angle sensor and if so does it effect vtec working. thanks

 

obd2 engines have them near the crank. The earlier one have them in the distributor. Yes it can effect vtec, if its makes you have a check engine light.

 

yeah it's in the dist on obd1. if you had a bad one you'd get a check engine light. if you're getting a cel for it, you'll need a new distributor. those sensors in the dist. can't be replaced by themselves.

 

yea im getting a check engine light and my vtec isnt working. i didnt know it was in the dist. so i have to change the hole dist. will the vtec work again thanks.

 

your car shouldn't even be running like normal. that's a pretty important sensor to say the least. i'm sure if you got a new dist. you'd be good to go.

note: don't buy a remanufactured distributor, they're junk. try to find a used one from someone if you don't want to spend $600 (i'm sure you don't).
