hey whats up i have a 1995 honda prelude it has about 150 thousand miles and i went down to mayrland one night street racing it is about a 35 min drive well we got down there and went to a gas station where every body was hangin out then we left there i wasnt really pushin my car hard but then we left that gas station and went to a different spot and i thought we were going to stay so i turned my car off then we decided we r not so i started my car back up and i started to go and it made this noise like there was suming under the tire or the car a kinda loud noise sounded bad ne way i got out and there was nothing wrong so i got back in and started going eveything was fine then i got on the street and my vtec wouldnt pop it had stopped and the check engine light came on so we stopped and all my friends were looking at it n they didnt know what happen so i drove it back home vtec still not popping then next day i started it up looked at it it was kinda smokin black smoke well i checked the oil and it looks like there is metal shavings on the oil stick so its been parked for about 6 months and im bout to fix it but i dont know where to start im not how the metal shavings got there not sure if they r but im not sure where i need to start my cousin said i need get new valves cause they proably bent thats y the vtec is not pipping and the timeing belt skipped thats y it made that niose

sounds like you spun a rod bearing, if the shavings are in copper like color. time for a rebuilt.

you prolly spun a rod or a main bearing, that would explain the metal shavings. it vtec not "popping" has nothing to do with bent valves, vtec runs off of oil pressure, and the ecu. start w pulling you codes, then start tearing things apart. also check you vtec selonoid gasket screen, its prolly plugged w shavings. good luck

yea vtec runs off the oil pressure, which you won't really have with spun bearings. I would start with pulling the motor and going from there,

i couldnt find them and my dad said that its not a rod or main bearing cause the motor would of locked up and it still runs so what else could it b my brother said it might b the oil pump blew up

that is not necessarily true, a spun bearing will still spin but it will make a nasty noise
