h22 swap delsol
how hard is it to swap a h22 in my 95 delsol anyone know what i need and has anyone on here ever done it just want to know im about to get the motor and just want some insite on it from someone who has done it.and what harness do i use thanx
I have an H22a swapped del sol.
You obviously need a mount kit if you plan on using the h22 trans as well (hasport, avid) or you have the option of going with the b series trans. also you have the option of using your stock shifter but you will need different shifter rods (avid) or you van use the whole prelude cable shifter asembly if you go with the h-series trans. If your car is vtec car then you can use your stock harness, just need to wire knock sensor and I believe something else. Of course you need a p13 ecu. If you use the h-series tranny, you can use an accord intermediate shaft and 90-93 integra axles

I've done it... if you have an Si model you will just need to lengthen your wires. If not you will need to wire in VTEC. Check out the Hybrid forum for good info. If you're using the stock manifold you will need to wire in the IABs (secondary butterfiles). Get yourself an EGR block-off plate (you can now get H22 block-off plates on eBay), a Prelude intermediate shaft, and Gator axles, as well as the Hasport mount kit. For a radiator, you can use a del Sol VTEC radiator. There is a certain lower hose you will need (I will have to check the number) and you will have to notch the frame where the tranny hits or you will get lots of vibration and will eventually crack the tranny case. You will have to cut up your center console vents to make way for the shifter cables. Get yourself a P28 and get Crome, Neptune, or Hondata. That way you can disable the knock sensor, and the ECU will not look for EGR. If you use a P13 it will look for EGR and you will forever throw a check engine light. The swap gets expensive, trust me. The swap is cheaper to obtain but MUCH more expensive to install (and much more labor intensive) than a B-series. However, if done right, you will spank every B-series that lines up with you. I have never lost to a B-series unless they had turbo or spray, and now that I have spray, I'm not losing to them at all. You'll love roasting the B-series guys on the highway
Just be warned, you're in for a lot of work (and headaches) before you get it all right. And I HIGHLY suggest you run a catch can.
