I have an H22 EG and was wondering if anyone could help me out on a problem I'm having with it. One day it started to make a funny noise and would sputter and die. I took the cap off the dizzy and saw there was some brownish deposits and flakes in it and didn't know how it happened and what it was from. I bought a rebuilt one and it went from trying to fire to just cranking and not firing at all. I bought another (new) one off the internet because it's a JDM H22 with an internal coil and haven't put it on yet but was wondering what it might be because I've already spent $300-$400 on 2 dizzy's and don't want to just throw parts at it forever. I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and could help me out or at least send me in the right direction. I also checked the firing from the plug wire's and it's not even firing now. No spark at all comes from the plug wire. If anyone could help me out It would be much appreciated. Thanks.

 

How did you check for spark ? .. Did you try to replace the external ignitor coil pack near your distributor ? Also check compression numbers. Check to see if fuel pump or main relay is working properly.

 

JDM H22A. Not external coil. And I put the wire up to the block, head, anything that I saw that was metal and no spark transfer.

 

Put the old distributor back in with a new cap and rotor and test the spark.
