Okay, about 2 months ago I hit a really bad puddle of water, that sent water into my H22A engine and locked it for about 5 minutes. I worked most of the water out after I got it started again. From then on, it would hesitate and lost some torque. It would smoke really bad white smoke everytime I hit VTEC. When at low RPMs i got floor the throttle and it would backfire in high gear (for example, doing 35 mph in 5th gear with it floored.) So we assumed it was a head gasket, so we took off the head, got it Crowered up, got new belt, gaskets everything. Still the same problem about 2200 bucks later. So then I bought new plugs and new plug wires. Still didn't fix it. I have done all but two things. Checked the O2 sensor, and checked the rings, which I shouldve replaced before we put the head back on. I'm gonna run a compression test on the motor tomorrow, but for now, I need some help on what to try next. Thanks, Bob.
