H22 internals
I have my h22a4 just waiting to be drooped in my sol, but my friends tell me that i should do internals first while the engine is out. i want to keep it all motor and i wouldnt know how to start this work because i dont understand what some of these mods do and if they are a waste. So if you can please give me info on the reasons to modifying the following parts and there functions that would be great. I ahve done searches but i dont understand clearly what the parts do.
1.Camgears
2. Valve,springs,retainers.
3.Pistons.
4.Camshafts.
5.lightweight fly wheel.
6.Biggir throttleBodies.
If you can please this info it would be greatly appreciated.Thanx

1. allow you to adjust cam timing. this is a good tuning tool, could possibly gain 10 or more hp to the wheels.
2. these would allow you to rev higher because they are stronger and would resist valve float.
3. you could get higher compression pistons, this would give u more hp. more tuning problems too if u go to high. 12.0:1 is prolly the highest u can go on the street w/o it getting too expensive.
4. higher lift/longer duration cams will add hp. cam gears and aftermarket cams go together well.
5. less rotational mass on crankshaft. allows u to rev quicker. it's also easier on the clutch.
6. allows more air into the intake manifold. not a very good hp/dollar investment. you would prolly get 4 hp to the wheels at most with this.
