GSR Transmission Problem
I have a 95 GSr with about 112,000 miles on it, the other day I was driving it and suddenly I coudlnt get it into 3rd gear, then all of the sudden I was having trouble getting it into any gear but 1st and 4th easily. Now i dont know about all of you, but shifting my car really only takes a finger movement, but now it was really stiff. I dropped it off at my Mecahnic where they checked it out, they said the car was fine, the linkage was a lil frozen up though, so they lubed it up. I picked up the car that night and it did the same thing, I brought it back the next day while i watched a tech shift my car, no prob, then I tried, I showed the guy *see* it doesnt go into 3rd, he then pushed my shifter up, it went right it, so now my car is just really hard to put in gear and I have no clue why, The tech said maybe it was cause I was using Red Line Trans Fluid, but ive been using the fluid for 3 years, and changed it of course, they said to go back to honda trans fluid, I thought the synchros at first cause it would grind when i didnt push it hard into gear, it would be kind of in the middle between shifts, Im bringing it to a *trusted* Acura dealer tomorrow, the popular thoughts on my prob is a problem w/my master cylinder, or my clutch is so thin that it just doesnt ingage right, even though when i start out its fine, please guys, what do u think???--Rich
