Default gsr obd1 jumper question

i've been running my 98 gsr swao with a 99 si ecu...installed the jumper and a obd1 gsr ecu today and fixed the issues that i had, but things sound different.....i was used to v-tec engaging realy loudly @ around 5400, but now it sounds like 4900 and the power doesn't feel as jolting as before...haven't dyno'd yet though...

anyway can someone help shed some light on what i might be hearing or not hearing (feeling or not feeling)

thanks in advance tech guys for the help

Your secondaries (IAB) are probably wired wrong.

Although the tone on the B16 and B18c1 are different...

ahhh, 4400... now that i had a day to drive i figured out that it was ingaging a lot lower...can someone tell me why??????....is that better???

and the 2nd's are wired open....the car has a si harness, so does that butterfly being open all the time take away from performance??????....what would you guys do...????

p.s. 99 civic hatch w/ 98 gsr/ spec stage three, pully's, intake,2.5 exhaust, and kumho V700's....

on the b18c1 vtec is able to ungage at 4400 because of the secondaries.yes you are loosing a lot of midrange with sec. open. i would wire it

The secondaries are there to provide a narrow path for the air, incresaing velocity, and giving low-end torque. At high-rpms they open up to get less velocity, but more volume.

its ok with them open all the time for racing u loose like 10 ft lbs of torque , ive seen this on the dyno with em open all the time, also i ran a skunk 2 obd1 p61 in my eg with a stock gsr motor and had vtec at 5500 , i dont know bout u guys but i like it later pulled harder before vtec and when it cam on it was way harder and sounded like a b series should, but im sure it lost some down low , but who races at a idle?
