iam gonna go look at a tranny tomm

i dont know what to look for to tell if its a 92-93 LS or GSR tranny

the guy listed it as a 93 GSR and he also bought it used so he is guessing also just what the old owner has told him

is there anything i can look at without taking the tranny apart so that i know its a B17 tranny and not get stuck with a LS tranny

ANy number or stamps etc .

92/93 gsr trannys are ys1's, but there is other with the same nomenclature .
only was without taking apart would be to pick a gear ( that you know the ratio of), put it in gear and see how many times the differential turn for every input shaft turn
