Default GSR Head Issues, Bent valves?

I just bought a shitty ls/vtec setup from a friend. Right down to it, theres a "knock" in the head on the #2 piston. When I started the car up, it seriously bogs down, almost to shutting off. Then after 1-2 minutes it starts to idle fine. Compression test was fine, timing is perfect. We just got done basically changing half the outside of the engine for maintence. I took the vc off, and the cams out, and everything still looks fine and in check. Should I take the head completely off next to see if I have a bent valve? Theres also some oil smoke coming out of the exhaust. From all the symptoms ive seen, friends and I agree it could be a bent valve. Also the knock always comes when the engine is reving down, it almost sounds like a bolt jumping around in a metal box. Lol to that, but everything weve down is down to the book, I just cant find the problem.

Engine:
B18b bottom end bored 81.5
Pr3 pistons (11.7:1)
Ls rods shot peened

B18c gsr obd1 head
AEM adjustable cam gears
skunk2 Intake manifold

Cliffs: My gsr head is making a loud knock in the #2 piston, bogs down on startup, smoke from exhaust, knocks comes when reving down, all tests look fine, head from top looks ok, need help

Bent valves don't get better. You wouldn't have good compression with a bent valve.Bad injector in #2 maybe.

i would take your valve cover off and run a magnet through there and make sure there is no pieces of metal or anything inside the head. either that or you have one loud injector pulse

knock could be from the block due to spooled rod bearing..if its was from the head then it would be ticking...maybe needs a valve adjustment
