would there be any benefit at all in puttin gsr cams in your b16 motor? motor has intake and full exhuast... 4-1 carb legal with 2.5 inch piping its a 1st gen b16
Just to let you know, I have a B16A with '95 GSR cams and felt a diffrence. I had the B16 cams in first, then I put the GSR's in and it pulls alot better when Vtec comes on at 5500rpm's.

4800 its very low i know... but it bogs through out the WHOLE rpm range vtec or not.... and its a gas hog now.... literally 35 miles and i used a half tank
It sounds like your motor is internally stock, but are you using anything for fuel correction and VTEC x-over (maybe a VAFC)?? Just going up to a GSR cam shouldn't affect your motor to the point that it's bogging... I would check to see that you have them installed right... being off by a tooth would cause your problems so I would check everything... Bring you crank to TDC and check you sprockets, are they at top dead too??? If your sprockets check out good then i'm willing to bet if you have a VAFC or something, that is where your problem is coming from... If you have the money I would still just go with a 2000+ ITR/CTR IN cam and a GSR EX is cool.... You notice a big difference over those GSR's but you'll have too bump up your VTEC x-over... The CTR's normally like their VTEC around 5200-5700rpm so if you don't have a VTEC controller you'll most likely want one.. Just my $0.02... Good Luck

Well, your vtec should come on at 5400 not 4800. Are you using the gsr ecu on a b16? I tried that and it drove like crap! So, I put the P30 ECU in and it runs great. You might also look to see if you have everything at TDC. Check your timing when you're done. My timing is set at 18degress BTDC.

its an obd 0 ecu its chipped no idea what program ran great with b16 cams.... also btw you set both cams to TOP rite like both arrows sticking stright up cuz its weird i will try drawing a diagram and upload it here to show you what im talking about ....
Withe the #1 piston at TDC, the two marks on the cam gears should line up perfectly, with the Camshaft sprockets "UP." There's your problem right there! You've seriously retarded or advanced the timing!
Yea, just as I said before, don't just go off the up arrows as a reference on the sprockets.... I'm just double checking what you did... Did you set the crank to TDC then check the marks?? That's what we are really worried about right now... You wanna make sure that the bottom end is set at top dead then compare the head to it... If you set the bottom end to TDC and the ticks on the sprockets look like you have them pictured then most likely your IN cam is retarded one tooth or you EX cam is advanced one... Good Luck.. Peace

well you can tell its boggin it sounds more of the intake tho cuz the exhuast sounds the same but you know that low pitched sound im talking about like booooooooggghh ya both cams are pointing DIRECTLY UP but those lil lines on the side arent lining up pefectly....

just to clarify for others in the future, the picture drawn above is incorrect. it is drawn correctly, but the cams are not aligned. there are two marks on each gear. ALL 4 marks must line up (use a ruler to check). the arrows wont point up exactly, but they should be in the general direction of up. i hope this makes sense. just trying to prevent future mistakes.
