Default Gs-R Clutch Problem

I have a 95 integra gsr, im not sure on how old the clutch is, but it is a fatory clutch. The problem i have been having is that sometimes it seems like it slipps going into gear, where as you can actually hear it. Its not a huge slip but its taking away from my power, and im sure its not good on the clutch, but its actually nothing you can smell. Other times the clutch actually (when im letting it out) it gets stuck about 1/4 of an inch from being fully disengaged but about 1 second later or less it pops out the rest of the way, you can physically feel it your foot. I need to figure out what this is asap, so please if you have any experience with such problems or clutches at all let me know what you think. Thanks

what do you mean it slips going into gear?
if you feel the pedal popping back at you when your letting up, it's probably just the pedal springs that are dry. do you hear a groan when you step on the pedal?
try putting some lube on the springs

Could be a sticky release bearing from what you're describing.

It slides alittle.. it actually sounds as if oyur sliding the clutch starting off in first gear, but your actually shifting into 2nd and up. It doesnt do it all the time. And its not huge but its noticable, and i would like to know how to fix it. Thanks

Haha...what in the hell are pedal springs? Is it the same thing as a steering wheel return spring?

opps...I guess I had some fun poking at a funny answer, but I forgot to answer yours. I think its just your clutch in general. Im sure the disc material is worn down and making it slip and the springs in the disc are probably worn out giving you other problems. I think its just time for a new clutch....Mike

SO these problems just start out of no where, i mean it could be its original clutch for all i know, i doubt it but oyu never know. The first owner was a girl and wasnt beaten. Up until a few days ago the clutch was fine, grabbed good, never slipped, but now it does those things. The fluid does look all milky and dirty, would changing hte fluid improve anything? And if it is the clutch i want an act clutch, what stage should i go with, and should i go 5 puck or 4? Thanks

Kyle

It isnt a race car, daily driver.

changing the fluid will not make the clutch not slip. And yeah, these problems can happen all of a sudden. And u know girl drivers wear more on a clutch then use guys do...if its street driven with mild bolt ons...just do a organic street disc with a heavy duty pressure plate. You can use a 6 puk though...not to bad to drive on the street in my opion....Mike

ever look underneath your dash nine? or taken out the pedal assembly? there are return springs there that can get dry and stick. i didnt say he doesnt need a new clutch, i was addressing the pedal getting stuck

Thats funny....wonder why all these return springs dont work when you dont have a cable or hydrolic fuild attached to a trany. Ever pressed in a clutch pedal without a trany in it? What happens? The pedal goes to the floor and stays that way. Must be because every return spring is broke
