What size is the stock ground cables on the valve cover and trans, and is it ok to use good speaker wire for a ground ?

To the trans should be 4 gauge, to the valve cover stock is I think 10 gauge. Don't use speaker wire, use amp power wire.

i'm a little confused about this grounding issue. why would the ground from the tranny be 4AWG when the ground from the chasis to the negative battery terminal is smaller (8 or 10AWG i think).

I plan on upgrading the ground to the batter to maybe 1AWG or 0AWG but thats mainly because of my stereo.
