Car shifts fine in all gear except for 3rd. There is a slight grind going into 3rd gear.
I can down shift into third with no grind just fine. While driving from 1st up, to avoid the 3rd gear grind, I go from 2nd into 4th back into 3rd and there is no grind. There is only grind when I go from 1st to 3rd or 2nd to 3rd.

any solutions? Motor is a h22a 5 speed

possibly a tranny flush will cure the problem?

 

a trans flush wont cure the h22a synchro blues...

 

yeah its just 3rd gear synchro issue

 

how hard to fix? How much would it usually cost? cheaper to just replace the tranny?

 

always cheaper to replace...

 

try running synchro mesh in your tranny....if this doesn't help at all replace the synchro

 

Get a copy of a helms manual, buy a new 3/4 gear synchro hub assembly from hondapartsdeals.com, Crack open the tranny case and read the manual. Oh and have a few beers too.
