Greddy header install....
I did a search but mostly all of the after market header write ups are one piece and i have a questions about the greddy two piece one...this will be my first try at installing header...so please help
I have a 00 civic EX..
1. Is there a gasket of some kind that goes between the first half and second half?
2. do i install the first half of the new header to the engine first or the second half to the cat first?
3. What exactly is a bung?
4. how do i tighten the bolts on the engine? is there a pattern i should do?
5. Are there and good step by step sites?
thanks in advance

I haven't owned a Greddy 2 piece header, but I have owned a 2 piece.
1. Yes, there should be some kind of gasket in between the two pieces.
2. That's how I installed mine.
3. You must be talking about the O2 bung. That is where the O2 sensor screws into the header.
4. I just used a cross pattern like you would when you put rims on your car.
5. don't know

Padronis nailed most of it. Gaskets best idea is to tighten from the inside out.
step by step sorry no pics
1. remove heatshild should be 4 bolts
2. remove all the 12 mm bolts from header to head.
3. get under car remove 2 bolts that hold the cat to the header you will need a 12 and 14 mm wrench
4. remove all the bracket bolts (sorry I have a teg can't really tell you where they are in a civ. ) sould be like 3 the teg has 2 12mm on the bottom and then a 14 mm bolt about half way up the header just look and see what is holding the header on.
5. Diconnect o2 sensor from connector and make sure it is just hanging down so you can pull it out still in the old header/ remove the sensor after you get the header out with a 22mm and alot of rust penatrent/ drop header thru bottom of the engine compartment may require some fighting.
6. you can reuse the gaskets if you want. install the upper part of the header to the block.
7. now take the donut gasket off the old header lower pipe, put it on the new ones lower pipe.(between header and cat.)
8. install lower peice to upper piece don't know where you get the gasket for that I just lived with an exhaust leak on my 97 ls cause I didn't car
9. Finally, connect the header and the cat togather.
I skiped install sensor into new header but you should be able to figure the rest out. If you search the civic forums archive you may be able to find better info
