Ok i got a problem with my Ls/vtec, I was racing someone one day and i was revin hard at 8500. I heard some tapping in my motor so i pulled over and turned it off then cranked it back up. It idles fine but when i rev to 3000-3500 it starts tapping. Im thinking its my rods or my bearings. Any ideas to what it could be?

 

Is everything stock inside the motor?

 

Nah its a fully built ls vtec

Tapping only at 3500+ idle its fine

 

Random thought: lost motion assemblies?

 

Not sure, im gonna drop my oil pan and check my crank and bearings to see if there still smooth
