got a new block. need to know what this is for.
the bung in the back of this b18a, right above the oil sending unit is drilled and tapped for something. there is the same casting in my old b18b but it was solid and not drilled. what i need to know is if i need to plug it, im sure i will. and what size plug do i need to use?

lol no there should'nt be. the knock sensor doesnt dtect fluid so is shouldnt have been taped all the way in . knock sensor good for abnormal engine vibration . detonation pinggin Ect ect
that port is for the coolent temp sensor. on non-obd engines it's on the back of the block instead of the thermostat housing.

+1, the knock, if there was one, would be above the water pipe
