I pulled a b18b in great condition out of a junkyard once, convinced the sales guy that it wouldn't run and that I would use it for parts and got out the door with it for $500 for the engine, tranny, ECU, wiring, and axles.

 

HMO and other companies that sell engines are usually pretty expensive, compared to what you can find from private sellers. Then again, with the cheap route your risking the chance of a motor thats not up to par.

 

tell you what, there is a sale right now for a legit b18b somewhere on the boards and i'm too lazy to find it, but it's in chicago... $500...
