Default Going to dyno tune..

Going to dyno tune, and its 175/hr .. how long should I pay them to tune my car for? There is a flat rate that they tune until its right but it cost more... but I don't want to pay unnecessary money if they can tune it within an hour.

first of all, what motor, what mods, turbo or NA or Nitrous
What engine management are you using

usually it should take less then 1 hour normally for NA

A good tuner will know that you can't achieve a proper, full tune in 1 hour.

Expect at least a few hours if your tuner is going to do a thorough job. Many tuners will charge a flat rate for an ECU tune, which can be advantageous for many people depending upon your setup.

Is the tunner familiar with CROME? How much for a full tune (tune untill it is right)? Is it an inertia dyno, load dyno???

it all depends on what they tune, if thet just do air/fuel and ignition, then a couple hours will suffice, but if you have them do cam tuning also, it can rack up some more time, as everytime you move the intake cam, you must retime the motor. some start timing from when they start strapping down, others start when they start the first pull, it all depends.

Yea the tuner is familiar. A full tune would be $375 and its a Dynapack which uses hydraulic loading to test and measure the output of an engine.

The cam gears are going to be set to 0 after the head rebuild.

why set at 0?? to begin with yes, but you can get some more hp usually by dialing out some overlap.

ya, start out at 0, and when he gets the A/F right and the timing, start advancing the intake cam 1* at a time, reset the base timing, and make a pull.
