Default getting my new b18b running

I got a 98 b18b1 engine from a mechanic friend of mine who closed his shop.
The engine has been sitting inside for the last 2 years. What do I have to do to make sure that I will not mess it up when I drop it in and fire it up? DO I NEED A NEWER ECU-OBD2 ? Do I need to worry about putting a little oil in each cylinder before I start it? I will change the T belt and spark plugs and Valvecover gasket of course.
