gauges? what do you guys use?
i'm a real beginner in to modding cars. I am planning to buy some gauges for my car. Planning to do some track racing next summer. I see a lot of people just have 3 in the center? what do you guys normally use?
i'm planning to get 3
-A/F
-oil pressure
-oil temp
i see all of these other stuff, like
-water temp (isn't this the same as the oem cluster one?)
-exhaust temp
-boost (don't need this since my car isn't boosted)
etc.
Which 3 does most ppl buy and why??

if your not boosted, maybe some temp gauges and an oil pressure. you really dont need to go crazy with them, you have indicators on the cluster if you run into troubles
Rikaro from VCC? (It's SiRClay)
The norm is Oil Pressure, Water Temp and A/F. A narrow band A/F gauge is somewhat useless when it comes to tuning as it really just tells you if the car is running too lean or too rich but it gives you a rough idea. Oil Temp is also another good gauge, as well as Voltage, always a good idea to have an eye on your charging system especially if you have a lot of electronics. EGT and Wideband AFR are extremely useful if you start getting into tuning as they tell you exactly whats going on inside your motor. Just make sure when you buy temp or pressure gauges that they are electronic, you really don't want an oil line that can potentially come off in your interior do you? Same with Fuel pressure, unless you get an electronic one, it's best to keep it under your hood. There are adapters to add a Fuel pressure gauge on your Fuel Filter or Rail. Good luck, and if you want to go Autometer, hit up Mopac in Langley (just off 200th). They have most in stock at reasonable prices, unlike Lordco.
