Default gauges dropping to zero (grandprix)

My sister is having a problem with her 92 pontiac grand prix. When she drives for a while the rpm and mph gauges fall to zero. The car runs fine when it does this but sometimes take 10 minutes to come back on. She broke down a few days ago and took her car into a local shop, and they had to rewire some relay switches for her fans.

And now she has this problem. We tried taking it back to them but they said if they can't recreate the problem it obviously isn't there. So after contacting BBB we started trying to find a problem, but the **** work is hideous and we are having troubles.

Could it be something on the cluster itself? Any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks
Mike
