Default Autometer gauges: Mechanical or electric

Ever since seeing a gauge leak oil on someones dash from a poor install I've been a little weary of putting a mechanical gauge in my car. However, autometer's mechanical gauges seem a lot more accurate with a way bigger sweep then their electric counterparts.

I need a water temp and oil press gauge, and am wondering what some of your opinions are on mechanical gauges.

The water temp guage doesn't have water going to the gauge so it won't leak. For the oil use a good steel braided line instead of the shitty nylon line that comes with the gauge and it won't leak.
