Default gauge cluster swap

What modification and/or wiring is involved in switching my stock 90 crx cluster to a jdm style cluster (teg, civic, etc.) to get the rpm and speed dials higher? And will my warning lights and others work properly also?

hey, i did a 91civic cx to an si swap, and i also swapped the dash boards, you have to make sure you have the proper wiring and the cable that goes from the speedo to the tranny the rest i think is just elecrtical going to the ecu.
but i'm not 100% sure

I just swapped a JDM GSR (SiR-G) cluster into my friend's 88 CRX.. There's not to much to it besides rewiring the plugs and adding in an electronic VSS.. Good Luck

Yours is mechanical using a cable driven speedo that then creates a pulse within the cluster... The electronic VSS creates a pulse which is then sent to the cluster and the ECU... You will have to find one from a 92+ tranny that is equipped with an electronic VSS... You'll have to rewire it in a bit differently and there are mainy ways to do so... I tapped the power and ground directly off the ECU..
