G3 Integra ABS wheel sensor.....
Has anyone replaced one of these? My ABS light gave code 4-8.... bad left rear ABS sensor. Dealer wanted $281 installed, so I said "
"!
What's involved? I checked out a G2 Integra Helms online and it doesn't look too serious. Thanks for any help.

Well, I just cleaned up the two rear ABS sensors, got my keys, started the car, went up my driveway and you got it..... ABS light on.
i've got a feeling it's a front sensor becuase that happened too many times before. My driveway goes uphill while turning which could sense a wheel moving faster than the other. ?! I dunno what else to think. It could be the front sensors are grimed up like the rears were. So, tomorrow I'll clean up the front sensors and hopefully that will be the end of my troubleshooting.

Cleaned the front sensors and pulsers today, which were much easier to get to than the rears, and the passenger side sensor was GOBBED with road **** (grease, sand, rocks, etc). Driver side sensor wasn't as bad but no metal was showing, so I dunno HOW it could sense the pulser. Poor design I'd have to say anyway, leaving this ABS contraption exposed to the elements like this.
Anywho, I had my hopes up and started the car, headed up my driveway again just like yesterday and ABS light again, even after I pulled my fuses to reset the ABS brain. This hasn't cost me any money (except to get the code from the dealer) but it's still frustrating. Clayton, if you read this, let me know if you find that rear sensor. Thanks. -Aaron
