Full cat-bck vs. Universal muffler
Aright looking into building up an EG hatch, and have Skunk2 exhaust set in my mind...
The cat-back system is like MSRP $550
The universal mufflers is like MSRP $200
(Give or take on both of them)
Is the full cat-back worth the extra $350, for the piping and everything?
Is it because the piping is a bigger diameter?
Post any knowledge or opinions, please...

A catback system is worth whatever money you are comfortable paying. ? is is 200 worth it just for a muffler on stock piping?

you get what you pay for. get an exhaust that will work effectively and has the best gains. go with KTELLER exhausts. very good piping
over the years i have had more exhausts than most people. name it, and i've had it. greddy, dc, apexi, 5zigen, custom, mugen, etc.
bottom line is, what's your goal? all out race? quiet on the street? legality? there are so many options.
my advice is this... if you don't mind running around and paying for labor, etc.. go custom. it'll be cheaper in the long run.
if you don't feel like dealing with the bullshit(welding, bending, etc.) go catback. you'll pay more for the catback, but don't expect any more performance than a good custom exhaust.
i'd say go custom. choose the muffler you like, find a good welder, and get some mandrel bends. you'll save at LEAST $100.00 over a full catback. but if you want a good catback, get RS-R. i am not sure if they make them anymore, but the piping was a little bigger than greddy, and it's no louder than stock until VTEC. once VTEC pops, it's slightly quieter than greddy SP. by far, the best catback i've seen and used.

I want somethin that has a noticeable difference for daily driver, but when you hit it, everyone within 200 yards knows it. I want it to be obnoxious only when I choose for it to be.
