Default fuel pump question

How long to fuel pumps usually last? Do they have to be replaced every so often? I have a 92 hatch and my car is starting to feel sluggish. I have changed the fuel filter and the transmission is new, is it possible that I need a new fuel pump?

fuel pumps usually just quit.

Try some injector cleaner.

I'll try the injector cleaner but as long as I have owned the car (about a year) it has been fed 93 grade fuel.

Sluggish could mean many different things. I would suggest changing the spark plugs and wires. (if they are old...)
Usually on stock engines fuel pumps do not go our very often.....

As previously stated,if the fuel pump goes out, you'll know. Because it won't go.

Try a general tune-up.
