Default fuel issues

I recently installed a walbro 190 into my 97 civic coupe...motor is a b20b...when I let off throttle while driving I get a heavy gas smell....no smell when idling or under acceleration...help point me in the right direction

Double check your install. If the only thing that changed was the pump inside the tank you messed something up and fuel or fuel vapor is escaping.

But wouldn't it be a constant odor if something were wrong with the install?? Im only smelling the gas when I let off the throttle

Checked everything I did....no leaks nothing loose...could it be running rich and if there were an exhaust leak I could be smelling it from there

check the fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator for any leaks. also take a peek at the return line off the FPR

I would also be checking the gasket on the pump holder assembly to make sure an edge is not pinched or folded over.
