Whats this code mean Fuel air metering code p1259? What could cause this code? and what could i do to fix it? I just out a d16y8 in my 97 dx and I used a 96-98 ex harness and 96-98 ex ecu I dont think it was throwing any codes before we put it in my car so why would it now? all the sensors are good and everything is hooked up. Iev tryed everything and still the same code and still the same ol runnin like **** motor .........I need help if anyone thinks they know what it is im up for hearing it!

My list says P1259 is a VTEC system malfunction. Don't know whether it's the VTEC oil pressure switch or the VTEC solenoid.

Yea thats what my hanes manual says it is......but it came up as fuel air metering with a scan tool. So dose this mean its a vtec system malfunction or is it something else???

 

Any OBD-2 error code above P0999 means different things for different car companies. P1259 probably means a metering error for Ford or Chevy...
Sometimes the scan tool has a setting for what kind of car it's reading. The actual code number is what you should believe, but the text description changes.

 

Like Jim said, P1xxx codes are manufacturer specific and P1259 for Honda is listed as a VTEC system malfunction. That's what I'd go with.
