fried ignition coil help!
my crx just died so i took the distributor apart and found that the ignition coil was fried - i mean toasted. some of the plastic was just completely melted. any ideas what may have caused this? i replaced the ignition coil, the ignitor module, cap, rotor, and the o-ring that goes on the rotor. and the car still isnt starting. also no spark on cylinder 1. i havent checked for spark on the distributor yet as i ran out of time. so now i have no ride and 5 hours before school starts to get my car running. ideas would be appreciated.

what rotor were you referring to? the rotor on the distributor shaft that goes into the head? i already replaced the other distributor rotor, the one you normally replace along with the distributor cap.
actually im thinking at this point it may be a function of timing..i did it late last night and never put the #1 piston at TDC before putting the distributor in. it could just be off. i guess that could be a reason for no spark at cylinder 1. hmm.
