Freshly Rebuilt Knocking Engine HELP!!
I just got done rebuilding my motor a B20A5, and have it back in the car. Last night we went to fire it up to make sure that everything was ok, and it was.
We were letting it warm up to bleed coolant into the motor, radiator, and all. It got to normal operating temp, everything seemed as though it was Ok. All of the sudden a knock developed after about 6-7 minutes of it running. Maybe it wasn't quite a knock, maybe a loud tap. It's not normal.
We shut the car of within seconds of it starting to knock. There is no loss of oil pressure, no CEL, and the dip stick reads like every thing is alright. The turbo lines were warm with oil, and there is NO leakage anywhere in the motor, the exhaust is non existant. I don't have a downpipe or charge pipes attached, and still have the stock injectors in there for the time being.
We made sure that every part in the motor was torqued to Honda specs, we used a Helm's manual to do the rebuild. I can understand if a rod broke or something, but the knock was not all that loud. But then again, it only happened a few times before we shut it down.
I need to know what to check, or what should I do. What do you think it is? Could a valve go crazy and loose its specs and maybe need readjusting?
I'm lost. So much for turbo, it was spinning all nice and freely too. (There are no pipes hooked up yet, just the necessary oil and coolant to and from the turbo)

is it comming from the top or bottom of the engine?
take 1 spark plug wire out at a time to see if knock stops after a certain one
