Help!
So i have a 1998 Civic Ex with the stock motor and everything. I was driving a while ago and my car starting knocking pretty bad. Don't know if its a rod or what. I don't really know much motor wise about cars and was wondering if i could get some help. There is oil leaking from where my motor and tranny bolt together when the car is running. Was wondering if this is going to be an expensive fix. Any input would be greatly appreciated! thanks!

The oil leak where the engine bolts to the transmission (if it's not coming from above the transmission) is the rear main seal. they are not fun to change.
If you are leaking oil from there, odds are that you have driven it while low on oil and damaged the bearings for the crank and rods. This would cause a knocking sound.
If you do not know how to change the bearings and rear main seal and would have to pay a shop to do it, save yourself some money and buy a replacement motor.

I wasn't saying that the car being low on oil would cause the seal to leak. I was saying that the leak was causing the engine to be low on oil, which probably caused bearing damage.
