fpr holding pressure
Maybe I just had a brain fart. But I swear when I use to shut my car off I still had fuel pressure left in my system which was reading on the guage. Now when I shut it off , it drops right down to zero, Someone correct me if i'm wrong I hope. I think maybe thats why i'm now only reading 25 psi of fuel through the guage at idle. which it now runs like ****. ohh by the way I have replaced the guage and have a spare and replaced both fuel pumps, so those should be ok. So who ever has a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, please tell me you have pressure in your system after you shut it off, so I can buck up and go buy a new fpr and quit playing darts and guessing, because this is getting really expensive for me...
Have a nice day!

by the way to all the moderators or administrator, how do i become a full tech member with all the advatages instead of a trial member.
it could be you fuel pump return check valve or the diaphram on your fpr went bad
and by the way you already are a member....look under your name...

where in the hell is the return check valve? thats a new one for me, and like i asked does your gueage still read fuel pressure when you shut your car off, and it doesnt just drop to zero immediately.
IF im a member, how and the hell do i change the avatar. from trial member to whatever.

for the check valve you have to replace the fuel pump, and if it is the fpr you have to replace the fpr...
yes the fuel sys. should keep pressure after you turn the car off for at least a while.
whats your pressure when the car is running? with/without the vaccum hose connected?

I replaced the fpr, and by god that was it. now i idle at 50 psi w/ vaccuum dissconnected. and when the car is off, the fuel pressure takes around 30 minutes
to settle around 5-10, before it dropped to zero in like 5 seconds.
damn the littlest things can throw you for a loop. ohh well you learn something new everyday. thanks for the help guys!
