Default Found oil where it doesn't belong

I found oil in the spark plug opening. The car doesn't smoke, and there's no oil in the radiator or in the coolant over flow tank. I am thinking that the gaskets around the opening is bad? Does this sound reasonable?

Also, oil in there, a fair amount... could it hurt performance?

thanks,
-Shing

If you found oil in the area where the spark plugs are located and your car does not smoke at all, then it must be the little small oil seal gaskets under the valve cover. Also, run a compression test to ensure their is no other worries.

yes btween the head and the valve cover there are gaskets so that doesent happen. All you have to do is take off the valve cover and put new gaskets in or gasket.
