Default Flywheels

I'm currently rebuilding a b16a and was wondering whether I should have a machine shop lighten the stock one or should I buy an aftermarket lightweight flywheel. I live in San Jose, CA and was wondering which machine shop should lighten it or which company I should buy a new one from. Any help would be appreciated. thanks.

IMO, get a new lightweight one for reliability and peace of mind. I have no complaints about my Fidanza.

is this true, if your flywheel is too light, there's a chances where if you come to a complete stop, your revs might drop too fast where the ecu dosent catch it and your car will stall ?

yea you're kinda right...it might idle a little rougher because a really light flywheel doesn't produce enough enertia to spin the engine so it could stall...I've never heard of it really happening tho..

if you do a lot of 1/4mi racing you would be better off with like the ITR flywheel.....well if you are N/A at least.....FI you dont really have concern with inertia b/c you are making much more torque then stock....if you do lots of autocross or road racing then light weight flywheel would really benefit you...
