they actually do have a special tool to get the flywheel bearing perfectly straight BUT you can get away with the rubber mallet. that's what I did when I didn't have the special tool. just make sure it's perfectly straight and align with the flywheel surfaces.

ya, you can just use a rubber malletm, no point in spending money that could be used elsewhere. You could use that money to get your clutch/brake fluid for your car.

Or a towtruck if u did mess up on your flywheel installation... hahaha jk.

I used a little grease and used and old valve to pop it in flat and straight.

its called a pilot bearing. Just tap it out from the back with a drift and hammer. And make sure it seats all the way down when you install the new one

And remember to tap the outside of the bearing using a large socket; don't smack the inside of the bearing or you'll ruin it before it's ever installed

u know what.... get a new pilot bearing from a part's shop.

the one you have maybe the wrong one for it by accident.

because ti should just go in there with a hammer, or hammer and socket... i used a rubber mallet to get it in there...

and then to make sure it was set i used a socket then the mallet.

and it worked just fine.

yeah use a socket that is large enough to go around the outer rim so you dont risk damage to the bearing... goes right in with a couple taps.
