I thought it was an ITR flywheel, but it weighs 15.4 lbs on the scale.





The codes stamped on the back are 27 AG M2 7T
Will it fit on a G3 Integra?

 

it is a type r flywheel. other b series flywheels weigh around 19 or 20 pounds

 

its definitely an ITR flywheel.

 

I thought ITR flywheels weighed about 14 lbs?

 

they are about 3-4 lbs lighter than other B-series flywheels. They are definitely not 14 lbs.

If it is supposed to be 15+ lbs, then it won't be much lighter than my current GSR flywheel. (of which I've heard weighs between 18-20 lbs) I've seen some posts where people say they put in an ITR flywheel and didn't notice much, and I've seen other posts where people say it makes a difference. How much difference did you notice?

Maybe I will get an ACT 12.5 lbs flywheel instead?
I don't plan on doing any engine modifications, and will mostly use the car for daily driving and recreational driving in the hills. You could say I like downshifting. I don't do drag racing, so I'm not in it for the
"frees up more horsepower" benefit. I believe 12 lbs flywheel doesn't cause any idle problems. Do you have any recommendations on either? Thanks

 

Its a slight difference in acceleration. I do notice that the rpms drop a lil faster between shifts. It will drop even faster if you go lighter but it will accelerate quicker. It depends on what you use the car for. I found the flywheel used fr $40 which is why i went with it during my clutch install.
Many guys here run the 12lbs flywheel and love it. And some love their 9lbs flywheels as well.
So i understand how hard it is to make a decision with all the good reviews people are giving. If you want cheap, ITR is the way to go. Remember, even with the aftermarket flywheels, they can only be surfaced so much. Afterwards, you will have to buy replacement surfaces. They are a wear item you know. The outer ring with the teeth can be reused.

 

If you didnt know already, the ITR flywheel is just a lightened B-series flywheel. If you want to, you can have a shop take a lil more off of it to make it 1-2lbs lighter but balancing it is a different story since some shops might require the crank as well.
