Default flushing looped rack.

Well i've been runing a looped rack for over a year now and i finally picked up a spare clutch fluid resevour and i'm going to vent my rack this afternoon. I was wondering about fluching the old fluid out of the rack while i'm at it. Should i just pour some new fluid into the hose attached to the rack and keep pouring til it flows out flear on the other hose?

Also on a looped rack is it ok to use non oem fluid? Or is it bad for the seals inside the rack? Oem stuff is like 5.50 a qt at the local stealership and like .99 at any parts store. Its not a big deal to pay the 5.50 if its needed but the dealer is across town.
