Default Flooring it, but not going fast???

The car seems like it's not getting all it's power somehow.... It revs up, vtec hits, but it's not as fast as it used to be.... 1600 on the new motor... no smoke, engine runs fine in the low end, but when I smash on it, something doesn't feel right... I still get that egg smell, blown cat orclutch?

Could be your clutch.

Hmmm, Would it probably be just the disc or the pressure plate...? How could I tell if the pressure plate is going bad? The clutch has less then 15,000 miles on it... ACT HDPP and 6 puck.....

when you floor it does it fell like its just revving...cause if it does thats usually your clutch clipping. if not its something w/the motor.

How old is your exhaust? Could be a partially clogged cat as well.

Yeah, I'm going to adjust my clutch cable, but I am not sure how far to tighten it... As far as the cat, it's a new carsound cat with 1600 miles on it. So does that mean the clutch is wearing, or the cable just needs adjsutment?

I think your clutch is worn from too much revving or racing too hard. Mine had the same problem be prepared to have it changed soon

So would it be the disc that needs replacing or the pressure plate? The ACT HDPP is less than 2 years old and doesn't have that many miles on them... I know the 6 puck is prolly worn from all that feathering in traffic... You think i'd be cool just getting replacing the disc to a full faced?

If the revs pick up but the car does not accelerate, then the clutch is slipping. If the motor revs slowly, it's plugged up. Check timing, make sure the intake is not restricted, pull the exhaust off the converter and look it over. If you can get away with making some noise, disconnect the head pipe from the converter and try a short drive. Make sure there is no damage to the rest of the exhaust. No dents in the pipe or damage to the muffler. I've seen loose baffles block the exhaust.

The not power, revs sluggish sounds like a clogged exhaust. I've seen converters melt and break apart and really clog the flow off. It's only a few bolts under the car to check. I would really start there. You'll have to disconnect that to get the trans off to change the clutch if it's not the problem anyway. New parts do not equal can't be the problem. New parts can be bad too.
