Default floor it?

which is faster for acceleration? just engaging the clutch and then just flooring it with wide open throttle? or will you go faster if you gradually open the throttle as the revs increase?

recently i've been doing this gradual thing and it seems faster. either that or people in my town are driving much slower. i'm wondering if by only opening the throttle partway in the lower revs, it creates more velocity or a vortex or something to increase torque? or am i imagining things, and even tho wide open throttle has that lagging sound in low rpms, it's still the fastest way?

if you just drop it and floor it youll just spin. the other way is definitely faster(on street tires), feathering it out i think its called. dropping at a lower rpm and letting your tires catch and slipping the clutch. oh yeah, the vortex of torque, i was almost sucked into that vortex once.

i also note this phenomena.

if i go WOT at low revs - my intake seems to make a roundish type of deep rumble that goes away if i go to part throttle.

this rumble dissapears if im higher in the rev range...

it might have something to do with the velocity of hte air that you mention...(but i dunno)

t..

my car is mostly stock, with kumho 712's. i can only spin the tires if i dump it at high rpms. but i'm talking about a phenomenon that occurs after i've already got traction.

i meant a higher velocity or a vortex of air going into the manifold when the tb is only partway open
