Default Rev stays high

I just installed a new exedy racing clutch and clutchmasters flywheel a few days ago into my gsr. I've noticed that when I get the rpms high when driving, then press the clutch, the rev stays stuck at a constant like 2k-3k rpm until i hit the gas pedal again and let off. Then it comes back down to normal idle. It does it even if I put the gear in neutral. Anyone have this happen to them? I am thinking it may be a sensor or vacuum hose possibly?

maybe your Throttle is sticky. Like it will not shot all the way down to idle, and sticks more open than it should. Just a thought, but ya might want to make sure the throttle plate is not sticking some times.

What did you do when you cleaned it??? Did you take out the plate?? If so you may not have set it square back in there causing it to stick just as 57STS said... It sounds like a throttle plate problem... If so pull the throttle body.. Loosten the two plate screws just a bit and open and close the TB a few times... This will normally get the plate recentered, then you're set.. Good Luck

Definatley sounds like the throttle body is not closing all the way. I had the exact same symptoms, and it was the TB. I just got rid of it and got a new one. I couldn't get it to stop sticking. Drove me nuts.

I just took off the air intake pipe and sprayed the throttle/butterfly down with carb cleaner and wiped it off with some paper towels... I'll re-inspect it and see if it may be sticking. tia

since you got all that carbon out of there, you may need to reset your base idle or even your throttle cable.

I found out whats wrong... It was dark last time I checked so I couldnt see very clearly. The rubber boot on the throttle cable had come off and traveled up onto the part where the cable wraps around the throttle spring and kept it from going all the way back down. Stupid me thanks guys for the help.
