Default FITV and IACV

Are the inlet/outlet nozzles on the FITV and IACV directional? Like does it matter if the coolant input hose is on either nozzle?

The Helms does NOT answer my question what so ever.
Thx

Yes it does matter as far as water flow coming from the head.

It usually goes from the side of the head or thermostat housing to the FITV, then goes to the IACV, then back to the head.
