Default For the first time need help installing bearings the correct way..

Ive always installed main/rod bearings wile the engine was still in the car, a quick check using plasti gauge and I was on my way...

Now im doing a rebuilt and have the engine out, decked and cleaned, bought the main and rod bearings off kragen autoparts and im good to go. The car didnt have a rod knock or anything IF anything it just needed a much needed valve adjustment, but the bearings were still in bad shape, one bearing was even split in half. And yeah my crank is in great shape, no scars etc.

Note: Its the OEM crank that came with the block, and will be installing standard size bearings.

Now, how do I install bearings the correct way? The code on the block and the markings on the crank get me soooooo confused, and would love for someone to clear things up for me..

OR can I install the bearings in any way as long im within spec when using plastigauge?

Thanks!

I would drop them in and plastigage just to see where you are. the rule as i remember is you can mix colors (OE code system) as long as they are the next size up or down on the scale.
